Can you imagine if you were paid millions for an app you helped develop. What would you do with all that money? Some might say they would go on a permanent vacation. This was exactly what Filipino–American Garrett Gee did.
Now the tech entrepreneur is enjoying a vacation around the world with his wife and two young children.
How did he do this?
Garrett Gee was a regular student studying in Brigham Young University. The 26-Year-Old Fil-Am lived a modest lifestyle with his wife Jessica and two young children Manilla and Dorsey. The couple always dreamed of traveling the world. Little did they know that their lives would change very quickly.
The road to his success came when he and a few of his friends at the university developed an app called Scan. Scan was a mobile scanning application that became so popular that it caught the attention of Snapchat. Snapchat offered to buy the app for $ 54 million! Wasting no time, Garrett took the opportunity and was paid $ 30 Million plus Snapchat shares. This was a truly once-in-a-lifetime deal!
Garrett and his wife sold all their belongings, saved their money and then traveled the world with their family. They’ve been to places like Hawaii, Thailand, Australia, and countless other exotic locales.
The young millionaire is wise with his money – only using the money his family had saved from selling most of their belongings. Garett says he has his family’s future in mind and plans to save and invest most of his newfound wealth.
