Si Wenn ay si Vice, si Vice ay si Wenn.”</em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">[What will happen to me now? Wenn is Vice and Vice is Wenn.]</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">These were the words of comedian Vice Ganda on the fourth night of blockbuster TV and movie director Wenn Deramas’ wake at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Deramas, popularly known as Direk Wenn  was Vice Ganda’s director in all of his movies; starting from his launching film, <em>“Petrang Kabayo”</em> up to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry <em>“Beauty and the Bestie”</em> which is currently the highest-grossing Filipino film in the country.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">According to Vice, all of the roles Direk Wenn gave him in the past have been easy, but the hardest one was choosing Direk Wenn’s coffin and burial clothes.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Despite the pain of his loss and in between tears, the comedian tried to insert jokes because he wants to give a light and funny speech.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He shared there were lots of coffins to choose from. He picked something that’s very simple and he was a bit surprised with the P1.3 million price.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He told Direk Wenn’s friend, June Rufino: <em>“Tita June, parang mas magandang magpa-</em>cremate<em>. P1.3M? E, bonus ‘yun sa blockbuster film.”</em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">[Tita June, I think it’s better to just have him cremated. P1.3M? That’s already equivalent to a blockbuster film bonus.]</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">But Vice emphasized Direk Wenn deserves that coffin because his worth is more than we can calculate.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He also shared that he was surprised that Direk Wenn’s suit, which was done in advance for the  Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards a few months from now, is very basic; so different from his usual shiny and detailed suits.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Vice said the black and white suit will do as Direk Wenn’s burial clothes.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Direk Wenn died of cardiac arrest at the age of 49 on February 29.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">According to an article published by <em><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/02/29/16/wenn-deramas-dies">ABS-CBN News,</a></em> he almost had a heart attack two years ago, and he underwent an angioplasty last year.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;"><br/><a href="http://kickerdaily.com/vice-ganda-turns-emotional-at-direk-wenn-deramas-wake/" rel="nofollow">Kicker Daily News</a></p>

<ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>TV and movie director Wenn Deramas passes away on February 29</strong></li><br/><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>His Ex-BF DJ Durano attends his wake</strong></li><br/><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Durano grieves Deramas’ untimely death</strong></li><br/><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The actor says he wouldn’t be who he is without Deramas</strong></li><br/></ul><p style="text-align: justify;">DJ Durano admitted he is having a hard time accepting the untimely death of director Wenn Deramas.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The blockbuster TV and movie director died of cardiac arrest at the age of 49 on Monday, February 29.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Durano, who had been in relationship with Deramas arrived at the Arlington Memorial Chapels, Araneta Avenue, Quezon City on the first night of the latter’s wake.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He said in an interview with<em><a href="http://www.pep.ph/news/62339/dj-durano-speaks-up-about-director-wenn-deramass-death-walang-dj-durano-kung-walang-direk-wenn?ref=latest"> Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP):</a> “It was difficult because everybody knows that Direk Wenn was my mentor. I’m lost for words because I only have gratitude.” </em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He shared his last conversation with Deramas. The diector told him: <em>“I’m happy where I am. I have my own life.”</em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">As for his message to Deramas, Durano said: <em>“I only have kind words for Direk Wenn.</em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Gusto kong sabihin sa kanya, thank you, thank you, thank you. Hindi lang sa akin, kung hindi sa mga kasama ko, sa mga nabigyan niya ng break.” </em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">[I want to tell him, thank you, thank you, thank you. Not just for me, but for everyone he helped to get a break in the entertainment industry.]</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He acknowledged that he wouldn’t be who he is right now if it wasn’t for Deramas.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He disclosed that Deramas has been pushing for him to be included in his upcoming television project. There were several attempts to revive him but to no avail.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Last year, the director had underwent heart surgery or angioplasty.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Initial reports disclosed that his remains will be bought to Arlington in Araneta. Details of the funeral will be announced soon.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Direk Wenn was a graduate of University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While studying at UST, he was involved in acting and became a member of Teatro Tomasino.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">He worked as a waiter in The Aristocrat Restaurant and was promoted as food and beverages coordinator after two years.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">In 1990, he worked as a production assistant in the TV show “Tatak Pilipino”.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">On the other hand, his career as a writer started for the show <em>Teysi ng Tahanan</em> and was later on promoted as the executive producer of Calvento Files.
