A cursory check on the internet revealed that the photo was contributed on Associated Press (AP) by one Aaron Favila. The photo was taken during the heavy flooding in Marikina City in August 8, 2012. It was the time when the fierce southwest monsoon (habagat) hit the country; bringing torrential rains, and eventually, heavy flooding, all over Metro Manila for more than a week. The total damage was placed at more than P600-million across the nation. Meanwhile, aside from the photo from the Philippines, the list also include one which shows a boy embracing his younger brother at the height of the migrant crisis in Europe, an Iraqi policeman holding a crying girl’s hand, US Pres. Barack Obama and Vice Pres. Joe Biden in a tight embrace, a couple kissing on the street during a Vancouver riot and an Afghan man sharing a tea with an American soldier. “Love seen through a lens captures how powerful small moments of humanity truly are,” Huffington Post said.
