Mabait s’ya, sobrang bait n’ya [He’s a very good man indeed]. He is very humble and he’s very approachable,” she said.</p><br/><p>Wurtzbach has paid a courtesy visit to the president in Malacañang last week. She described the most powerful man in the country as a man with a commanding presence and very approachable.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>“As soon as he walks into the room, he has this commanding presence that you can approach him and talk to him. Not intimidating at all. He’s firm and strong but he is also the type of person who would listen,” the reigning Miss Universe narrated.</p><br/><p>Wurtzbach is currently in the country and one of the purpose of her visit is to discuss with Malacañang the possibility of the country hosting the next Miss Universe pageant.</p><br/><p>In a press release from the Palace, the two reportedly “talked about the similarities between them, with both of them hailing from Mindanao and winning their respective titles as the first Mindanaoan President and first Mindanaoan Ms. Universe.”</p><br/><p>On the upcoming Miss Universe 2016, Wurtzbach said she is optimistic about the prospect and they are just sorting out some details of the event before the plan is finalized.</p><br/><p>“Of course, everything could still change but I’m being very optimistic about it and I really hope it will push through. Santos quoted Marites Flor as telling reporters after her meeting with Duterte in Davao City.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>[They treated as like dogs… like kids. They beat us up when we commit mistakes.]</p><br/><p>“Ako, sinasampal nila ako, dalawang beses nila akong sinampal. ‘Yung mga kasama ko, binubugbog,” Flor added.</p><br/><p>(They slapped me… they slapped me two times. My companions were beaten up.]</p><br/><p>Flor also recalled the pain she felt when the two Canadians, one of whom – Robert Hall- was her fiancé – were beheaded. God’s hand is to be recognized in the events of history. Credit then your victory, neither to fame nor popularity, but to God,” said CBCP President and Lingayen Archbishop Socrates Villegas in a statement, earlier published by <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/halalan2016/nation/05/09/16/cbcp-assures-winning-bets-of-prayers">ABS-CBN News</a>.</p><br/><p>The Filipino bishops also reminded the newly-elected officials that they have a responsibility to serve and to care for “the weakest and the most distressed,” in particular, children, women, and indigenous people.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>Villegas also offered words of consolation to those who did not win in the elections, emphasizing that there are so many other ways to serve the people, beyond clinching the positions they had aspired for.</p><br/><p>“To those who did not succeed, you, as persons, as sons and daughters of God, are infinitely so much more than the positions after which you aspired,” he said.</p><br/><p>Villegas also promised “vigilant collaboration” with the incoming administration in working for the good of all.</p><br/><p>“The greatest promise the Church can offer any government is vigilant collaboration, and that offer we make now. Na-AMLC na ang pamilya namin at si Vice President Binay. Makikita naman na wala kaming tinatago dito, at walang makitang ebidensya na mali ang ginawa ni vice president</em>, [There is nothing more, right? The AMLC has already checked on our family and Vice President Binay.
