<div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-top" style="display:block;text-align:center;"><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-3942681860132668" data-ad-slot="4831328630" data-ad-format="auto"></ins><br/></div><br/></div><br/><div class="post-thumbnail"> <a href="http://kickerdaily.com/posts/2016/06/first-and-only-electronic-legislative-library-inaugurated-at-batasang-pambansa/13501777_1201418126585522_7016575141928889266_n/"><img alt="" src="http://kickerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/13501777_1201418126585522_7016575141928889266_n-600x264.jpg" title="House Legislative Library, Archives and Museum"/></a> <span class="wp-caption-text">Image from PTV Facebook page</span> </div><br/><aside class="mashsb-container mashsb-main"></aside><ul><li><strong>The first and only electronic legislative library  in the Philippines was inaugurated last June 21</strong></li><br/><li><strong>It will soon be equipped with modern information and communications technology equipment</strong></li><br/><li><strong>The House Legislative Library, Archives and Museum Building will also serve as the center for the digitized archival collection of the House</strong></li><br/></ul><p>House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., together with incumbent and incoming lawmakers, led the inauguration of the first and only electronic legislative library in the country inside the Batasang Pambansa complex  on June 21.</p><br/><p>The facility will provide students, researchers and history aficionados an easier access on information involving the Philippines’ legislative history, an article written by Xianne Arcangel on <a href="http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/570798/lifestyle/artandculture/state-of-the-art-legislative-library-inaugurated-at-batasang-pambansa">GMA News Online</a> stated.</p><br/><p>House Deputy Secretary-General Edgardo Pangilinan said the House Legislative Library, Archives and Museum Building will soon be equipped with modern information and communications technology facility.</p><br/><p>As such, the library would offer e-library services that are needed for legislation and will maintain a specialized collection of information resources such as e-books, journals, and other online information resources on legislation, legislatures and other related matters, he added.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>The House Legislative Library, Archives and Museum Building will also serve as the center for the digitized archival collection of the House, which includes legislative documents and other artifacts of historical value from the time the First National Assembly was established in 1907 up to the present.</p><br/><p>Special features of the facility include a mural depicting the history of the House of Representatives which was created by Filipino artists commissioned by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to be installed at the lobby.</p><br/><p>Located on the third floor of the three-storey building is the legislative museum that will feature legislative artifacts detailing the Philippine legislature’s 100-year history, as well as memorabilia about the Speakers of the House of Representatives.</p><br/><p>More features will be provided in the outer part of the edifice specifically the Congressional Wall of Honor featuring the complete roster of the Members of the House of Representatives from 1907 to 2016.
