In an article written by Julija Televiciute of <a href="http://www.boredpanda.com/travelling-with-children-maternity-leave-esme-travel-mad-mum/">Bored Panda</a>, Karen and Shaun, who are long-time backpackers, just packed everything into one backpack one day, and started taking their baby girl in different places in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand even when she is only as young as 10 weeks old. “Both Shaun and I were keen backpackers before I fell pregnant. Everyone thought we were completely nuts when we said that we were going to take Esme,” Karen said. They, however, proved them wrong as Shaun left his job, sold their car, rented their house, and then they took off with their baby. Karen was breastfeeding and Esmé was vaccinated before they left the UK. “Because she was small it was easy enough to keep her in the harness when we were on the move,” the mother shared. She, however, said: “We have no regrets, she got to experience new sights, scenes and smells as she grew. The only time I felt Esmé was missing out was not having much socializing with other children. However, the libraries always have free rhyme classes if you need to socialize your child a little.” The couple believed that having a child is not a hindrance for a couple to continue traveling around the world. <div id="attachment_234308" style="width: 310px;" class="wp-caption alignright"><img alt="Photo credit: Travel Mad Mum" class="size-full wp-image-234308" height="375" src="http://kickerdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/12717422_926138380815625_8413915161589747213_n.jpg" width="300"/>Photo credit: Travel Mad Mum </div> “People say having a child ruins traveling, but it really doesn’t. Obviously there were times…when you fancy a beer and the baby is asleep. And when you crack it open she wakes, that makes it harder. But it’s worth it. You can still do everything, including diving, but you just take it in turns. I can’t imagine having spent my maternity leave any other way,” she said. At present, Esme is already one year old and it looks like she’s having the time of her life basing from the photos shared by her mother on her blogs. As of posting, Karen’s page, the <a href="http://travelmadmum.com/stories/">Travel Mad Mum</a>, already has over 3,500 likes, while her Instagram has over 20,000 followers. She is also receiving a lot of good comments from social media users. “Hi! I just wanted to say how much I admire you for traveling with your little girl. Swailes. “Must get your guys autograph when ya get here to NZ, can’t believe how many news headlines I have read about your blog!” wrote J. Piggott. “Thank you so much for the opportunity of watching your adventures Shaun karen and the beautiful esme!
