Floirendo donated a generous amount of P75 million</strong></li><br/><li><strong>He said it was his brotherly love and ardent support that prompted him to back Duterte’s candidacy</strong></li><br/></ul><p>DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Incoming president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) revealed that his top campaign contributor is Davao City Second District Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr., who bequeathed a lofty 75 Million fund.</p><br/><p>Rep. Floirendo, chairman of Anflo Management and Investment Corporation (ANFLOCOR) which is based in Davao, owner of Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Samal Island, and is the son of the late banana mogul Antonio Floirendo Sr., donated P25 million in March and another P50 million in April.</p><br/><p>According to <a href="http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/789916/floirendo-i-gave-p75m-to-dutertes-campaign-out-of-brotherly-love">Inquirer.net</a>, he said the reason for this ‘humble contribution’ is his ‘brotherly love and ardent support’ to the mayor, which also compelled him to withdraw his backing to Vice President Jejomar Binay.</p><br/><p>“Beyond the millions of pesos, it was my brotherly love to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte that prompted me to support his candidacy.”</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>“This was also the reason why I had to back out of my support for VP (Vice President) Jejomar Binay which the good outgoing vice president understood well.”</p><br/><p>The congressman clearly stressed that the million-peso fund does not come with any favors in return, saying, “But I would like to express that all of the millions I have donated to Duterte are without any strings attached, so to speak.”</p><br/><p>Being a fellow Mindanaoan, Floirendo believes Duterte is the ‘man who can make it all happen for Mindanao’.</p><br/><p>“I believe he will do what he promises. I believe in him. He is a no nonsense person. It is my fervent wish that President Duterte would make good of his promises for Mindanao and the entire nation. That alone is enough for me, for us Mindanaoans who gave it all to produce a President we could all be proud of.”</p><br/><p>Floirendo wished to keep his contribution undisclosed but because it was required by the law, it has to be made public.</p><br/><p>Among the top financiers of President Duterte were businessmen Dennis A. Uy of Phoenix Petroleum (P30 million), Samuel Uy of Davao Farms and Davao Import Distributors Inc.
