She explained that the AFP’s ground rules concerning the allocation of plots in the cemetery only forbids those who have been acquitted of criminal offenses. This introduction of this new script is suspect because it was after this time that Sen. Marcos’s lead from Rep. Robredo started to erode at a rather distinctive pattern,” Atty. Francesca Huang, a lawyer for Marcos, said.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>Indeed, the IT expert revealed that a few hours after the breach, Senator Marcos’s one million lead over Liberal Party bet Leni Robredo started to narrow down.</p><br/><p>The IT expert disclosed that it was a Venezuelan IT expert of Smartmatic, the Comelec supplier of the vote counting machines, who tampered the “hash codes” that protected the integrity of the files containing the results.</p><br/><p>When confronted, the Venezuelan reportedly admitted he was responsible for the incident. The confrontation was recorded on video and audio, said the unnamed IT expert.</p><br/><p>“The Smartmatic IT expert’s job was only to ‘receive, decrypt and distribute’ the files. He introduced a new script, a new computer program and commands that could alter everything and supercede the existing program,” he said.</p><br/><p>The Venezuelan reportedly explained that he inserted a new script because one of the candidate’s names that appeared on the screen was erroneous. He claimed he fixed the error.</p><br/><p>“What an excuse? The guy was obviously pulling our leg. We are IT experts, we know a new program was not needed to make changes in the name. So if he could alter the name, then he could alter the results. He could alter the entire command,” the IT expert said.</p><br/><p>The IT expert said the Venezuelan could not identify who among the candidates complained about his or her erroneous name. <ul><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>A terrorism and security expert said ISIS should be blamed for the deadly Basilan clash that killed 18 soldiers and 5 terrorists</strong></li><br/><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>He said ASG leader Isnilon Hapilon has pledged allegiance to the ISIS and is no longer loyal to the local Abu Sayyaf leader</strong></li><br/><li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>He also warned that the governments of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines must act together to control the Sulu Sea before it is turned into a terrorists ‘safe zone’</strong></li><br/></ul><p style="text-align: justify;">MANILA, Philippines – The group behind the Basilan encounter that killed 18 soldiers and 5 Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members is no less than the Islamic State (ISIS); this was according to security and terrorism expert Professor Rohan Gunaratna.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking to Rappler’s Maria Ressa on Sunday, April 11, Gunaratna reportedly said that the ASG group led by Isnilon Hapilon has already pledged allegiance to ISIS and is no longer loyal to the bandits’ recognized leader Radullan Sahiron.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">“The group responsible is the Islamic State, led by Isnilon Hapilon in the Philippines,” said Gunaratna; head of the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at S Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) and author of the book <em>Inside Al-Qaeda.</em></p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The security expert added Hapilon is the current leader of the ISIS branch in the Philippines, and has, in fact, taken responsibility for the deadly clash between the terror group and government troops.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">“So it’s wrong for anyone to say that this is a fight with the Abu Sayyaf because in Basilan, Isnilon Hapilon and all the other commanders have pledged allegiance to (ISIS leader) Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi. They are no longer loyal to Radullan Sahiron, the Abu Sayyaf leader,” Rappler quoted Gunaratna as saying.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, Gunaratna warned that broader security measures is needed to secure the waters shared by the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia or it will end up as a base of operation, not only for terrorists, but for criminals as well.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The three Asian neighbors, Gunaratna said, must come up with a strategy that will effectively control and secure the Sulu Sea and that a stricter military solution is required to address the problem before it blows out of control.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Gunaratna cited the incident last week wherein four Malaysians were abducted by gunmen in the Pulau Ligitan in Semporna and have reportedly been held captive by Abu Sayyaf in Jolo, Sulu.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">“The terrorists are engaged in hostage taking with the aim of eventually turning the area into a ‘safe zone’ to conduct attacks against these countries,” the security analyst earlier told <em>Today</em>.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">On Sunday, 18 soldiers and 5 bandits were killed in a clash in Tipo Tipo, Basilan in a gun battle that lasted for nearly 10 hours. Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Maj. Her last contact with him was via a telephone call around 11:30 pm on Wednesday.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">“It has been more than 48 hours since my husband went missing. My mother-in-law fell sick after Zoha’s disappearance.”</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The family believed he may have been abducted by authorities after speaking to the media about the government’s supposed negligence that allowed still unidentified hackers to steal $ 81-M from Bangladeshi central bank and transfer them to spurious accounts in the Philippines and Sri Lanka.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Zoha, who identified himself as an official of the ICT division of the ministry of posts, telecommunications and information technology, has accused senior central bank officials of gross negligence that let hackers install Malware on the bank’s computer system.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The Malware allowed the attackers to obtain credentials to transfer the money to different overseas bank accounts. While the hackers, tried to steal $ 1-billion from the bank, a simple typo error fortunately prevented the full heist.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">During investigation in February, Zoha went to the central bank where he spent several hours with the police.
