A recent fire in <b>Quezon City </b>once again showcased their bravery and dedication to their jobs.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Just this Monday, fire struck the homes of those who live in <b>Franchesca Tower </b>in Quezon City, putting the lives of many in danger. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Several people were rescued, including an infant and the mother who had to walk a steel plank made by the firemen for them to walk on just outside her window. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">The firemen inspired many people through their heroic deeds, as news spread around social media about one of them who gave up his breathing apparatus to a <b>one</b>–<b>year old boy</b>, among several others that he and his team rescued. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>FO2 Florencio Asonza</b> was awarded by <b>Fire Chief Superintendent Bobby Baruelo </b>with the <b>Medalya </b>ng <b>Katapangan </b>or <b>Medal </b>of <b>Bravery  </b>for this, as he laid in his hospital bed after he suffered carbon-monoxide poisoning after he selflessly let the child use his breathing apparatus amid the thick smoke of the fire. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">According to the <b>Hospital Director</b>, <b>Dr</b>. <b>Modesto Llamas</b>, <b>Asonza’s </b>heart was damaged. He is now being treated at the <b>Chinese General</b> <b>Hospital</b>. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">The other firemen who received the <b>Medal</b> of <b>Bravery </b>were <b>Bernardo Soriano</b>, <b>SFO1 Ernesto Belecario</b>, <b>FO1</b> <b>Christopher</b> <b>Gaor</b>, <b>FO3 Bill Astudillo</b>, and <b>SF01 Carmelo Eugenio</b>.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">According to the BFP, the fire broke out in the basement of the condominium building.
