Grace Poe’s son Brian Llamanzares finally aired his side and said the Limited Edition Nike Air Mag “Back to the Future” shoes he bought online did not cost hundreds of thousands of pesos as earlier speculated. “The shoes did not cost as much as the rumors claim it to be. I bought it online at P10,000 from my own savings. I hope that these rumors and lies are finally put to rest.” Llamanzares also apologized if he had offended anyone for displaying the shoes. “I apologize if anyone was offended by my shoes, it was never my intention to upset anyone. I just wanted to buy something for myself after saving up for months,” the 23-year-old said. “I don’t know much about shoes and I’m not exactly a sneaker expert so when I saw these online at P10,000 and I liked the design, I saved up and bought the shoes.” A proprietor of a sneaker store in Manila earlier said Llamanzares’ shoes were just cheap imitations and sold for around $ 100 dollars on eBay. However, some shoe aficionados are maintaining Llamanzares’ shoes cost more than he claims due to it having to pass through a bidding process. Poe, who is running for president, also would not divulge the real cost of the shoes after her son told her but nevertheless expressed shock at the price.
