In an article written by Rie Takumi for GMA News Online, it was disclosed that LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez and his team have meted out the punishment to Nicolo Lizaso after conducting an investigation on the complaint filed by a flight stewardess named Christine Fulgencio on September last year. “He was meted out a penalty of P200,000 dahil naman sa ginawa niyang panghahataw o tangkang panghataw ng tubo sa kanyang pasaherong babae [He was meted out a penalty of P200,000 for hitting or attempting to hit her female passenger with a pipe],” said Atty. Antonio Enrile Inton Jr., board member of the LTFRB. Moreover, the government agency also found out that Lizaso did not possess any authority from the LTFRB to function as a driver for Uber, which is listed under the transportation network vehicle service (TNVS) category of public utility vehicles (PUV). “Napatunayan po ng board na kolorum yung unit niya dahil wala siyang provision authority nung bumabiyahe siya at namamasada [The board has proven that his unit is in colorum because he has no provisional authority when he operated it],” Inton added; adding that the LTFRB has already recommended the cancellation of Lizaso’s driver’s license. On September 24, 2015, Fulgencio has utilized the Uber mobile app to book a ride from Valle Verde 6 in Pasig City. However, Lizaso, who was the driver of the booked vehicle, has lost his temper after he had a hard time looking for Fulgencio’s exact location; prompting him to express his anger to the passenger by attempting to hit her with a steel pipe and leaving Fulgencio immediately. Kicker Daily News
