According to ABS-CBN News, groups such as Bahaghari LGBT Organization, Pro-Gay, Liga ng Kabataang Moro and other groups urged ‘President’ Duterte to favor the passing of the anti-discrimination bill, freedom of information bill,  and the development of health-care services that will address to the needs of HIV and AIDS-infected patients. Aaron Bonette, Bahaghari’s spokesperson, said the country’s problems could be summed up into three K’s which they tagged ‘KKKabog’. “The three Ks stand for: Kabuhayan, Kalusugan, at Karapatan [Livelihood, Health, and Right]”, said Bonette. The groups reminded Duterte to honor his vow to stop contractualization – asking him to create programs for more job opportunities. They also urged him to review the case of Filipina transgender Jennifer Laude who was killed by 19-year-old US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton, reports <a href="http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/566026/news/nation/lgbt-group-eyes-chika-minutes-with-duterte">GMA News Online</a>. <div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"> </div> </div> The LGBTs expressed their support to the new president saying they are prepared to follow whatever policies Duterte may enforce to suppress criminality. They also called on to Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who is now winning a senatorial slot, to be more sensitive to the rights of the LGBTs. Mayor Duterte is known for openly supporting the LGBTs saying ‘<a href="http://kickerdaily.com/duterte-support-for-lgbt-gays-were-created-by-god-too/">Gays were created by God too</a>‘, proof of which is the Anti-discrimination ordinance he helped pass in Davao City which prohibits discrimination against the LGBT people and members of the minority groups, but he was also criticized after using the term ‘bayot [gay]’ to describe Mar Roxas after the latter said it is impossible for the mayor to end criminality in six months. His statement earned flak from the LGBT group. Sharing her thoughts on her morning show <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/02/23/16/kris-shares-thoughts-on-same-sex-marriage">“Kris TV”</a>, the younger sister of President Benigno Aquino III said she is in favor of affording civil unions to same-sex couples who have decided to live together as spouses. “I’ve been asked by so many people because my closest friends are gay,” she said. “Ang sinasabi ko [what I’m saying is], I believe in love and I also believe in monogamy.” Although she conceded the country would not be able to accept such a thing for now, Aquino said the property rights of same-sex couples such as their inheritance would be protected under civil unions. “We are not America. Hindi pa tayo handa sa ganoon. Pero ‘yun nga, ako naman gusto kong mabigyan ng karapatan as far as inheritance is concerned, ‘yung civil union. Civil union only because for partners who have been together, nag-pundar together for so many years, tapos hindi mo pwedeng iiwan sa kanya. Pwede sa will, pero legally wala ng habol and all. Eh nagmahalan naman talaga,” she said. [We are not America. We are not ready for that. But as it goes, I want civil union to give them rights as far as inheritance is concerned. Former ABS-CBN journalist and now Wheels Philippines Magazine editor-in-chief Ira Panganiban posed this question to the LGBT community even as he twitted them for not being able to handle a mere opinion by Manny Pacquiao. “Yes I understand your concern. And yes it was a bit of insensitive of Manny Pacquiao to have said what he said about gays being worse than animals,” he wrote on his <a href="https://web.facebook.com/irabernardovpanganiban?ref=ts&fref=ts">Facebook</a>. “But see, he was asked his opinion on public television. It’s not as if Pacquiao was walking around preaching and telling people how to act and what to do. Manny has never been the kind to dictate to people how to be.” Panganiban then pointed out the times Pacquiao was made fun of by gays but never retaliated and compared it to the current reaction of the LGBT community over his opinion. “When the same members of the gay community made fun of him and his mother, Pacquiao took it all in stride. When people blast him for his intelligence, the champ did not get mad, when they called him idiot, he just went and won championships,” he wrote. Describing the LGBT community as “like little babies condemning him to the high heavens” because they cannot handle the boxer’s opinion, Panganiban said they should look at themselves and ask who’s the real bigot — them or Pacquiao. “Guess what the definition of “Bigot” is? Here, let me tell you, “bigot – a person who has no tolerance for the belief and opinion of others and forces their own opinion on others,” he said. “Now, who is the bigot? Because of the interview, the senatoriable gained a lot of negative comments online and allegedly lost thousands of followers on Twitter. He later issued an apology and insisted he is “not condemning LGBT”. Still, he stays firm in his belief and maintained he is “against same sex marriage”. “I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. On his <a href="https://web.facebook.com/MannyPacquiao/?fref=ts">Facebook</a>, Pacquiao posted a video asking for forgiveness from those he had offended. At the same time, he reiterated he will abide by his belief on the wrongness of same-sex marriage. “Hello po sa inyong lahat maraming salamat sa dasal at suporta. Nais ko pong humingi ng paumanhin sa aking nasaktan dahil sa aking pagkumpara sa tao sa hayop. Iyon po ay kamalian ko at ako ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa lahat na nasaktan. Hindi po nagbabago ang aking desisyon na against po ako sa same-sex marriage at yun po ang paniniwala ko. Ang mali ko lang po ay nakumpara ko ang tao sa hayop, humihingi ako ng paumanhin.
