The report shows poor workers remain below the poverty line despite the country’s economic growth due to “jobs that are informal, temporary or casual, and low-paid.”</p><br/><p>“People in the Philippines are working hard but are still poor. Having a job does not lift one out of poverty. It needs to be a good job to lift you out of poverty,” said Jan Rutkowski, lead economist at the World Bank’s Social Protection and Labor Global Practice.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>“Economic growth has created enough jobs to absorb the growing labor force. There has been no increase in unemployment, but the problem has been that the quality of jobs were not meeting the aspirations of young people entering the labor market. The project, which is called Broadway for Orlando, was initiated by Broadway Records President Van Dean, musical director/radio host Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley. Rudetsky said in a statement:</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando. Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference.</p><br/><p>“Our community of artists has banded together as we always do to show we can end this cycle of violence and intolerance. Love WILL prevail!”, he added.</p><br/><p>Among the artists performing are Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel, Wayne Brady, Matthew Broderick, Sara Bareilles, Kristen Bell, Gloria Estefan, Megan Hilty, Rosie O’Donnell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sutton Foster, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bernadette Peters, Fran Drescher, Nathan Lane, Sean Hayes, and Whoopi Goldberg.</p><br/><p>The song, which will be available for download on Monday through Broadway Records’ website and soon on iTunes, and will be sold at $ 1.99. So, ilan sa mga ginawa namin, ito nga, sa paper jam, nagsimula na rin kami ng bidding para sa gunting</em> [We are looking for ways on how to mitigate these risks. So, some of the things that we did is this: for paper jams, we started the bidding process for scissors],” Bautista said.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The statement came after the Supreme Court junked the Comelec’s petition to keep the audit trail feature of the VCMs disabled as it might cause a major delay in the elections and increase instances of vote buying.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">According to Theodore Te, chief of the high court’s Public Information Office (PIO), all the justices voted unanimously against the Comelec’s request; forcing the polling body to enable the feature.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">As a workaround, the Comelec has decided to provide plastic receptacles in every precinct during the elections, wherein the voters will be required to drop their audit trail receipts before leaving the voting center.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">A budget of P1.2 million (P12 per pair) has been allotted for the purchase of scissors while the amount of P27.7 million (P300 per unit) was reserved for the receptacles.</p><br/><p><a href="http://kickerdaily.com/comelec-needs-100000-pairs-of-scissors-for-may-polls/" rel="nofollow">Kicker Daily News</a></p>
