Lorenzo Bautista in his homily urged Presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to uphold his promise to eradicate criminality, graft and corruption, and drugs by saying, <em>“Kapag ikaw ang naging Presidente, marami kaming ipapapatay sa iyo</em> (<em>When you become president, we have a list of criminals we want you to kill</em>)<em>“</em>.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The rector of the Masbate Cathedral when asked if he was serious or was just joking when he stated that, said it was a joke but admitted he supports Duterte’s bid to eliminate those who are heavily involved in drugs, crime, and graft and corruption.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">In a 20-second video posted by <a href="http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/562960/news/nation/masbate-priest-tells-duterte-we-have-list-of-criminals-we-want-you-to-kill">GMA News Online</a> reporter Cedric Castillo on Twitter, Fr. Bautista was quoted as saying, <em>“It is a joke. Pero kung marami dito ang dapat patayin (ano) na involved in the criminalities, corruption, and drugs, I am with him (It is a joke. But if there is a need to kill those who are are involved in the criminalities, corruption, and drugs, I am with him) “</em>.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">It is a known fact to every Filipino that crime, drug use, and corruption in the government system are rampant in the Philippines.
