This means transportation is expected to decongest traffic in the capital city — which has 12 million people — as well as provide relief to tens of thousands who work in the city but live in Bulacan.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">President Aquino said the MRT-7 would be completed by 2020. However, San Miguel Corp. President Ramon Ang said the project could be rushed to “as early as 2019.”</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">The project covers the development of an integrated transportation system, which includes the railway system, a 22-km highway from the NLEX Bocaue interchange, and an intermodal transport terminal (ITT) adjacent to the San Jose del Monte Station. Commuters can take public utility vehicles (PUVs) or private cars and use the new highway from NLEX, alight at the ITT, and board the MRT-7 going to North Avenue, Quezon City.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said his city, which is the gateway to northern provinces, would “reinvigorate” the city. To note, Quezon City is hosting a lot of government offices, major universities and giant shopping malls.</p><br/><p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, the president mentioned the long delay of the groundbreaking of the P69.3-billion MRT-7.</p><br/><p>“These kinds of projects are not like candies you can buy from sari-sari stores.
