ABS-CBN talent and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Vickie Rushton did not expect that a certain Facebook post dedicated to her brother, Kian, would garner so much attention, love and support from the netizens.
Vickie's post went viral after the netizens noticed that she and her older brother are portraying the real #SiblingGoals.
The celebrity who is 24-years old has a 27-year-old brother with Down Syndrome. This is a genetic disorder where a patient suffers cognitive disabilities and intellectual dysfunction.
She brought Kian out for a lunch because he loves food so much. She also shared that they visited a music store as Kian is passionate about music as well.
"I took my brother, Kian, out for lunch today because he's asking for some strawberry shake since yesterday. When we arrived at the new cafe located just a few minutes from our house, that's what he ordered. Every time he took a sip, he would nod and say "hmm namit" (delicious). I was staring at him because of his cute reactions. He would clap, smile, and give me and Penny a kiss. I know he's happy. Food makes him happy anyway. Haha!
Before going home today, we went to a musical instrument store, he told me to buy what we were supposed to buy last month, a Ukulele (a gift from @zhardee, thank you!) and since he has extra money, he bought a flute and a harmonica. I allowed him to hand the money to the cashier. He was very very very happy. Iniwan na nga ako sa loob ng shop! Sobrang excited makauwi. Hahaha! It's almost 9:30pm and he is still singing and playing with the instruments," Vickie wrote in her Facebook account.
Vickie also shared that the only time Kian could go out and eat at restaurants is when he is with her. Their mom is blind and so it is difficult for Kian to experience these things without her. Since Vickie's job is based in Manila and they are really residing in Talisay, Negros Occidental, her moments with Kian are very limited. She shared that her brother would always look for her when she is away and would call her all the time to check out on her.
"I feel so emotional. Seeing how happy he is right now and throughout the day. How I wish I can stay here beside him so that I can take him out more often. The only time he can leave the house and eat in restaurants is when he is with me. To those who don't know, my mom is blind so it's really hard for them
"Also, he would call me almost every day if Im away. Sometimes he is my "alarm clock" (and I looove it)" Vickie added.
"An angel like him deserves a good and a happy life
" don't want to fail him. I don't want to disappoint him. I just really hope and pray that he is happy. I want him to be happy in this lifetime. He is the best. He is more than just the best." she stated.
Netizens who were inspired by the video also shared pictures of their 'angels' in her post's comment section.
Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) had an exclusive chat interview with the Star Magic artist and she shared more of their story.
"I won't trade this to anything in this world. My love for my brother is bigger than anything this world can offer. I have nothing but sweet words for all special children and also for the family and everyone who loves special children,"
Meanwhile, the Kapamilya artist has a message for families who have their own 'angels' with them.
"We are blessed that God chose us to be with an angel here on earth to experience and feel this kind of love they give, so genuine and true. Isn't it amazing that even if we're quiet, they know whenever we need a hug? That's how special they are. I hope there will be more families that will embrace their uniqueness because they bring so much happiness.
"Let's not be violent but rather be patient and shower them with pure love. Parang babies kasi sila na kung ano ang kinalakihan na environment, gano'n din sila. They depend on us so let's not fail them. Let's be strong for them," she said as their interview ended.
