Following the suicide of an RTU student who jumped from the 5th floor of SM Megamall two days ago, a female Accounting student has also jumped from the 20th floor of Bro. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, at De La Salle University. Initial reports say that it is an alleged suicide as no foul play is yet to be found.
Faculty and students were startled by the incident. The Lasallian, the official publication of DLSU, posted a series of Tweets about the incident:
“BREAKING: Staircase in Andrew Hall impassable at the moment due to an incident. The investigation is ongoing. Elevators are currently usable.”
“Security officers and STRATCOM are unable to comment on the matter as of press time due to ongoing investigations.”
“The entrance way of Andrew Hall leading to Fidel Reyes St. has been closed. Students are advised to take the Taft entrance instead.”
“Despite the Fidel Reyes entrance being closed, classes are still ongoing at Andrew Hall.”
Meanwhile, a text message detailing the incident went viral after the incident. The victim allegedly held on the 5th floor after falling but wasn’t able to contain the force so her arm got cut off. Also, due to the height of the fall, her body was cut open when she hit the ground exposing her inner organs.
The authorities are yet to issue their official findings.
