Morgan Freeman is not just known for his great acting skills, he’s also known for his distinctively smooth, deep voice.
Recently, the 78-year-old actor used his trademark voice to dramatically read the lyrics of Justin Bieber’s hit song, “Love Yourself.”
The song is a part of Bieber’s latest album “Purpose” and became No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last February.
“I’m going to give a dramatic reading from a very popular songwriter,” Freeman said at the beginning of the video.
A few days after pop culture website Vanity Fair uploaded the video on Youtube, it has garnered almost two million views.
Even Bieber himself seemed to like Freeman’s ‘interpretation’ of his song and he retweeted Billboard’s tweet.
During his sit-down interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, Freeman was asked where he learned to speak so beautifully.
He told host Jimmy Kimmel and the rest of the audience that he went to school at Los Angeles City College in order to learn how to become an actor.
At that time, he had a vocal coach who was very good in his job and taught him how to properly pronounce every last syllable of a sentence in full.
According to an article published by Cinema Blend, Freeman’s voice made him a legend in the acting community.
“Whenever a film needs someone to sound like an authority or beacon of wisdom, he’s almost always the man they call. Between films like The Shawshank Redemption, Bruce Almighty, and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, he’s become known as the sage to the weaker, unwise members of a given ensemble. His voice is so damn smooth that it even made flightless birds interesting in March of the Penguins,” it read.
