Yesterday, Facebook was abuzz when a concerned netizen posted a picture of a street kid in Novaliches. The picture immediately went viral because the child featured in the photo resembled Jose Ja-El Flores, who has been missing for five years.
The post stated:
"Is there someone who can identify this kid? His nickname is balat and he does not know his real name. He is six years old and lives in Divisoria. He is now here in Novaliches Fairview so let us share this to our friends. You can text me in my number 09087127412."
Other concerned netizens immediately contacted Mommy Jona, Ja-El's mother. The Facebook page that she set up for her son was also flooded with comments and messages informing her of the viral picture.
Mommy Jona immediately made her way to Novaliches to verify the identity of the street kid. Today, she posted a thank you message to everyone who kept praying for them:
This is her post:
“Concerning my son and the kid that looked like him. I will keep you updated regardless of the result. I would like to apologize if I cannot reply to all your text messages. Again I am asking for your prayers. This is really not easy for us especially for my husband. Again I beg for your understanding. Thank you very much.”
Kami.com personally asked Mommy Jona for an update and she answered: “My apologies my mind is still confused because he really looks like my son. I hope he is really my son. I will keep you updated.”
They also asked what steps were being undertaken to confirm the identity of the kid.
Jona’s sister Penelope said the kid was not talking as he probably was still in shock. Mommy Jona told Kami.com that she will go back to the place where the kid was staying to try and talk to him again.
Let us hope for a positive result to this story.
