Phones are a part of our daily lives. With smartphones now getting cheaper and cheaper, more and more people can afford to buy them. But over time, we developed bad habits on using them. Aside from those sleepless nights that we spend on our phones, or using them while driving or walking, they can actually lead us to danger if not handled properly.
For example, this Facebook post went viral when netizen Daverianne Quibael Beltrano shared her family’s experience with a smartphone which almost burned down their whole house. This was after her mom decided to charge her dad’s Samsung S4 smartphone using an Alcatel charger. She charged it overnight and when she woke up in the morning, she noticed that the phone was starting to get hot. She then decided to transfer it near the bed, and went downstairs to take a bath.
But after 30 minutes, neighbors started gathering outside. When her mom went to check what was happening, they were surprised to see the phone all flared up and was starting to burn down their room! Fortunately, they were quick to act and were able to extinguish it.
Afterwards, Beltrano left everyone with the following reminders:
