MANILA, Philippines- Power Duo, composed of Anjanette and Gervin from Angono, Rizal, shared how they became a couple for the first time in public.
Contrary to what others, believed, the pair didn’t become officially together until the night before the grand finals of the fifth season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” last weekend.
According to an article published by ABS-CBN News, the pair weren’t able to sleep well in anticipation of their final performance and they talked about what’s the real score between them.
Speaking to Boy Abunda in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on Thursday, May 26, Anjannette shared that Gervin confessed his feelings for her, saying ‘I love you and she answered back ‘I love you too’ because that’s what she really feels for her dance partner.
Their feelings for each other had been very evident in all their performances in “Pilipinas Got Talent.”
They bested the other grand finalists and took home the title during the grand finals of the competition on Sunday, May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Their performance earned them a standing ovation from the four judges and from the live audience as well.
TV host-comedian Vice Ganda told the pair that they made him believe in love again.
“That was not just dance, that’s love. And tonight, love wins,” he said.
Garcia, the former president of ABS-CBN Corporation, praised Power Duo for being completely amazing.
For her part, Locsin, who became emotional when she watched the pair’s performance when they auditioned told the pair their performances continue to level up from the auditions, semi-finals until the grand finals.
“That was fantastic,” she added.
As for Padilla, the judge who pressed the ‘golden buzzer’ without hesitation for the pair after he witnessed their heartfelt dance to express their true feelings for each other, he said that Power Duo is the Helen of Troy of the competition.
“When love talks, everybody listens. Love conquers all,” he added.
Power Duo got an average of 100% from the combined judges’ score and public votes.
They won P2 million.
Mariana Paula Madrigal, popularly known as Amazing Pyra got 66.57% and placed second, while magician Ody Sto. Domingo got 50.61% and placed third.
