- A man claims the Taiwanese in chop-chop slay case in Makati City is responsible for the disappearance of kin
- Shows evidence to prove the self-confessed murderer’s relationship with the missing kin
- While man seeks justice for kin’s ordeal, police reveals latest development can help to build Taiwanese character reference
The news about the Taiwanese who was involved in the chop-chop slay in Makati City had been perceived as a light to a tunnel for the kin of another missing Filipina.
In a report written by Trisha Macas and published by the GMA Online News, a man went to the Makati City police and claimed that the disappearance of his cousin might also be linked to the Taiwanese chop-chop slay suspect in Makati City.
John Pagador Heap brought some evidence that his cousin, Daisy Pagador Baracisas, was the first wife of Yuan-Chang “Tony” Kuo, 46; a Taiwanese practicing surgeon in mainland China who was recently involved in a grisly crime.
Apparently, Kuo and Baracisas were married on March 11, 1996 as shown by the photos and the marriage certificate laid by Heap.
Rowena Cobalida, whose body parts were found by her daughter in different areas of the Kuo residence on February 23, 2016, was the second wife of Kuo,
Tying down the perpetrator’s hand on his cousin’s disappearance, Heap said that the last people who saw Baracisas prior to her disappearance on October 23, 1999 were Kuo and Cobalida. This was in reference to the ownership of certain properties they wanted to settle.
“The last people she was with are these two….because these people wanted to settle the issue of the land that was given to my cousin when they got married. Basically that’s it, and to have basis for annulment,” Heap said.
Heap also shared, “I dreamed of my cousin. In that dream, I saw her na puro putik ang katawan niya pati damit niya. With that, sabi ko my cousin is dead and we want justice.” [I saw her with mud all over her body and even her dress.]
He further added that they have filed a case against Kuo as the main suspect for his cousin’s vanishing, but then because of lack of jurisdiction, the case was dismissed.
The Makati City police are now hopeful that the recent development will be helpful on the case that was filed against the Taiwanese.
[At least, we are going to have a character reference on Tony, his background and we can present that to the fiscal’s office. This will be an added evidence that the suspect had a previous case such as this.”
The crime committed by the Taiwanese was also condemned by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) as cited in the joint written article by Jodee A. Agoncillo and Nina P. Calleja and published by Inquirer.net.
Teco stated, “We have been deeply shocked and saddened by the recent killing of Mrs. Rowena Kuo and the subsequent mutilation of her body. The ruthless homicide is abhorrent to this office and the Taiwanese people and actually seldom happened in Taiwan.”
Therefore, we wish to express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the next of kin of the victim at a time of grief and darkness. As the case has already been handed over to the appropriate Philippine judiciary authorities, we have full confidence that the relevant Philippine judicial authorities will conduct a fair trial and render justice to this case.”
