MANILA, Philippines – In the latest twist on the brutal killing of a 29-year-old woman and her infant child in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, police have designated the husband as a ‘person of interest’ after uncovering new developments in the case.
In his interview with dzMM, Sta. Rosa police chief Supt. Reynaldo Maclang said the designation came after they were informed by Globe Telecom representatives that the husband, Richard St. Ana, was the only person who had access to the job order number which the killer showed to his wife on the day of the incident.
He added that the photograph of the ID which was used by the suspects and found in the crime scene belonged to a Globe engineer named Christopher Oliveros who was in his office at the time of the incident as shown by the company’s biometric records
Aside from the job order and ID, Maclang said a friend of the slain woman also informed them of her alleged extramarital affair which Sta. Ana — a computer expert — could have uncovered in her cell phone. Additionally, they also found suspicious Sta. Ana’s possession of six SIM cards —one of which he used solely to keep contacting Globe’s customer care hotline.
According to Maclang, they will check Sta. Ana’s background amid his refusal to cooperate with the police and surrender his own two cell phones to their forensic examiners.
