A five-year-old girl has been suffering from a mysterious illness for six months.
In an article written by correspondent Kirstie Mccrum and published by the Mirror.co.uk, Khloe Russell reportedly had runny nose for half a year despite the antibiotics being given to her as medication.
Her mother, Katelyn Powell of Hemet, California, has ceome so worried because she could see no progress and positive reaction on the medicine that her daughter was taking.
Describing the discharge that came from her daughter’s nose, she said, “Green, green, green constantly and it stunk.”
Ms. Powell also brought her daughter to the dentist to check if it could be something about her daughter’s teeth, but nothing improved.
The problem was only solved after Ms. Powell’s observant brother saw something different on his niece as she retold how it happened, “My brother was like, ‘Your nose, it’s disgusting. Blow your nose, blow your nose.’ And she blows it and out comes the safety pin.”
Describing the culprit — the safety pin — she added, “The pin, almost 4cm long, came out black and partially disintegrated. It was a huge object. It was bigger than her nose.”
Retelling the experience she said, “We were horrified. I was like, ‘Did you put this up there?’ She did, but she forgot to tell me.”
After the removal of the safety pin, Khloe returned to her own healthy self.
Meanwhile, because of her coming forward and telling of her child’s ordeal, Ms. Powell received plenty of comments criticizing her as a mother. However, Ms. Powell said, “I never would have imagined there was a safety pin up there and if I had we would have had it removed immediately.”
