- Mother who was raped and bashed with a hammer in brutal home invasion dies of her injuries
- Search commences for the fake Internet repairman “David dela Cruz”
- Globe denies knowing Dela Cruz; two technicians deny involvement in the crime
MANILA, Philippines –Have you seen this man?
The hunt is on for the man known as “David dela Cruz” even as GMA News reported the death of the 29-year-old mother who was raped and killed inside her home along with her 2-year-old son in Sta. Rosa, Laguna last Wednesday, March 2.
The mother, who was found bloodied and unconscious inside her home, succumbed to her head injuries at the hospital where she was brought. Authorities said she was repeatedly bashed in the head with the hammer. Her home had also been ransacked.
Before the incident, she was able to take a picture of Dela Cruz, who introduced himself as a repairman for Globe Telecom’s subcontractor On Target, and send it to her husband.
According to witnesses, Dela Cruz was accompanied by another male companion that fateful day.
Photos of Dela Cruz are currently being shared online; with grieving friends and family calling for his capture.
The local government of Sta. Rosa have also placed a P300,000 bounty on his head.
Globe Telecom has denied knowing Dela Cruz and disavowed any ties with On Target.
“The name of the suspect is not in the roster of regular and contractual employees… Further verification also indicates that he is not in the official technician listing of subcontractors in Metro Manila and Laguna,” the company said. Thus, it is highly possible that the suspect was carrying a fraudulent ID.”
Meanwhile, the two technicians of Globe’s subcontractor Leviscon who were the actual ones sent to do the repairs that day and are currently considered persons of interest in the case have also issued their statements to the police denying any role in the crime.
According to their affidavits, they neither met the woman nor issued a false after-job report to Globe.
