Why is he so special that despite his series of monumental blunders, Malacañang can’t seem to sack him?” Senator Alan Peter Cayetano asked on Monday, April 4. The question was raised by Cayetano to President Benigno “PNoy” Aquino III following the 5-hour power outage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 that affected a great number of flights and inconvenienced at least 15,000 passengers. In his article for <a href="http://interaksyon.com/article/126020/cayetano-to-pnoy-despite-monumental-blunders-like-naia3-blackout-why-keep-abaya">InterAksyon</a>, Ernie Reyes wrote that according to Senator Cayetano, the airport incident cemented Secretary Abaya’s “unparalleled level of incompetence.” Cayetano then enumerated Abaya’s other blunders. “From special screws, overcharging of non-delivered stickers, late license plates and no available driver’s licenses, frequent MRT breakdowns, abandoned license plates at Customs, stolen plate sheets, and now airport blackouts, I have never seen such display of incompetency in our recent political history,” he said. “Why Secretary Abaya continues to serve in DOTC despite these is mind-boggling, it defies all existing logic,” Cayetano added.
