<p>In recent news, Claudine Barretto reportedly saved a gunshot victim and gave him a ride to the hospital. According to a report published by ABS-CBN, the 38-year-old celebrity was thankfully in the same hospital where the wounded man – identified as Abelardo Espela was first rushed. However, due to lack of equipment and insufficient medical supplies, the institution in Marikina refused to give aid to the victim. Thus, Claudine decided to offer her car and gave them a ride to another hospital. <p>Following the accusations of a former housemaid against her, actress Claudine Barretto has recently generated buzz online – for a different reason altogether. Just recently, she reportedly saved a gunshot victim’s life.</p> <p>Based on an ABS-CBN report, Claudine Barretto encountered the gunshot victim — Abelardo Espela — in an undisclosed hospital in Marikina. After seeing her vehicle, he pleaded with her to assist him. Luckily for him, the actress agreed to take him in even though he was covered in blood. Thus, Abelardo was brought aboard the actress’ vehicle and taken to another hospital.</p> <p>It is, however, unfortunate that Abelardo’s companion did not survive the unwelcome incident. She complained that her former employer treated her badly and even underpaid her. Josefa said that she received payment for 16 days’ worth of labor when she in fact worked for 17 days.</p> <p>Josefa also demanded additional compensation for accompanying Claudine Barretto to the hospital for an operation. <p><strong>Domestic violence</strong> remains one of the most prominent issues in today’s society, particularly those ruled by the patriarchal system. In the Philippines, there are lots of women who suffer beatings from the hands of their husband, usually if the latter is drunk.</p> <p>However, such incidents also happen in different parts of the world. In <strong>Russia</strong>, a woman was beaten to death by her own husband after she initially told him she wanted to leave him.</p> <p>Based on <strong>Daily Mail’s</strong> report, <strong>Maxim Gribanov</strong> (34) physically assaulted <strong>Anastasia Ovsiannikova</strong> (28) by brutally kicking and punching her for several hours.</p> <p>He even took a video of the attack so that he could boast it to his friends. According to him, he wanted them to see how much his wife was <em>“under control”</em> by him.</p> <p>Fortunately, the woman managed to call the authorities before she finally succumbed to death. When she arrived at the hospital, her body was filled with severe bruises and her organs suffered internal bleeding from the intensity of the attacks. She also had her bones broken. She added that she is currently pregnant because of the rape incident.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Hajar narrated that due to poverty, she was forced to drop out of school as early as 14 years old. Her father is not always available to look after them because of his work. She also shared that she is sharing a poor relationship with her father and her stepmother. </div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Hajar was with her brother, Allala at the show. Allala said that his sister was kicked out from their house by their father who is ashamed of Hajar’s pregnancy out of marriage.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Because of Tunisia’s conservative practice of traditions, pregnancy before marriage is still considered as a disgraceful act regardless of the cause.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">When Hajar’s father appeared on the show, Chebbi said that “whoever did it should marry her to close the case” and “contain the situation”.</div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><br/><div style="text-align: justify;">Hajar said she is not sure who is the father of her child but she said that she thinks her stepmother’s brother is the primary suspect. On the other hand, Allala said that all of her sister’s abusers are all married. He claimed that his remarks were taken out of context. He said that he said marriage is the solution to the problem because there is a lack of evidence that Hajar was really raped. So to me, that’s the most important thing. And what I learned from that, this whole thing of political power, to prosecute political enemies, that must stop,” she said.</p><br/><p>However, she emphasized that she doesn’t wish her political enemies to experience what she had gone through and added that she hopes to be the last victim of political prosecution.</p><br/><p>“I must be the last victim . Korea this October</strong></li><br/></ul><p>Newly crowned Miss Philippines-Earth 2016 Imelda Schweighart revealed that she was bullied by fellow contestants in the recently concluded Miss Philippines-Earth pageant which was held at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City on June 11.</p><br/><p>“I’m a victim of pageant bullying. There were vicious women in the pageant. Everybody hated me,” Schweighart said in an interview with Armin Adina of <a href="http://entertainment.inquirer.net/196322/2016-miss-philippines-earth-cries-foul">Inquirer</a>.</p><br/><p>“I lost my pageant heels, foundation and my only eye-shadow palette. Someone got those before coronation night. The heels are essential because they improve my height. I’m surprised they went missing because I’m a very organized person. They were stolen, and my fellow candidates didn’t help,” she added.</p><br/><p>The 21-year-old stunner from Palawan said the most challenging part of the pageant happened offstage where the other contestants would bully her because she was the front-runner during the pre-pageant competition.</p><br/><div class="easy-ads"><div class="easy-ads-lite easy-ads-lite-bidvertiser-middle"><br/><br/></div><br/></div><br/><p>She also became ill after one of the contestants made her drink a certain type of oil before an important part of the competition, as per an article published by <a href="http://push.abs-cbn.com/features/67787/miss-philippines-earth-2016-says-shes-a-victim-of-pageant-bullying/">Push</a>.</p><br/><p> “She told me it’s a brain booster. I won’t name names, but I trusted the girl who gave it to me, so I took it before I entered the room. But it made my sinuses act up and gave me a sore throat. I still felt sick until coronation night,” she recalled.</p><br/><p>“Those bullies were psyching me, to weaken me. But I didn’t give in. I had to kill the demons and survive,” she said<em>.</em></p><br/><p>Schweighart found solace from her pageant mentors and former Miss Earth winners Jamie Herell and Angelia Ong, who also experienced the same kind of bullying while competing in a pageant.</p><br/><p> “I hope you find yourselves in a place where you can be healed from the past hurt. Find forgiveness and peace,” she told her haters.</p><br/><p>Schweighart will be representing the Philippines in this year’s Miss Earth pageant to be held in S.
