There is this an old belief that when someone goes out of your life, someone will come in return. That is how this heartbreaking story would be perfectly described.
Courtney Hill met her life partner, Brian, who was a retired Navy Veteran. They first saw each other during a snowstorm in Illinois in 2011. They fell in love with each other and decided to get married right away.
However in February 2016, Brian was involved in a truck accident and lost his life. It really left Courtney devastated and their daughter, Reagan, heart-broken.
Brian's death became more painful for Courtney especially when she found out that she was pregnant! She "told" the news to Brian during his funeral.
Everything remained alright until one day, Courtney felt unsual abdominal pain. she immediately went to see a doctor in fear that she might have miscarriage. It was to her great surprise when she found out that she was not blessed with just one baby, she was carrying a triplets!
"My jaw DROPPED. I’m excited to have three more smiles that remind me of him," Courtney said in an interview.
Unfortunately, one of the babies died 25 weeks later. It once again hurt Courtney so much as the incident reminded her of her loss. She was so excited to have three little angels that she already picked out names for them. She named her lost angel, Brady.
"I wasn’t expecting to hear that news at the ultrasound. It reminded me of the loss of my husband, with his loss came blessings,' she said.
The other two babies who survived were born healthy. On September 21, babies Harper and Miles were able to finally see their world.
"I lost Brady but I was given two newborn babies who are healthy. Most triplets have weeks in intensive care. Not in my case, everybody went home the next day. We have suffered, but we also have been blessed with little miracles," Courtney added.
Courtney had a hard time explaining to strangers that Harper and Miles were not twins but triplet. Although it might be a tough story to tell, the family really feels that it's important to keep Brady's memory alive, too.
It may have been a tough situation for Courtney but she remained strong for her children. She did not forget about her husband whom she will still love forever.
"They will all know about their dad. From military, to family man… he was the true hero. He was an amazing man, always willing to help others. He was just an amazing father and husband. He was perfect," she said.
