A retired police officer asked President Rodrigo Duterte and PNP Chief Ronald De la Rosa to help him solve the case of his son who was shot dead near their residence.
Retired intelligence officer SPO4 Alfredo Jebulan posted a message on Facebook addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte and Director General Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa. Jebulan was enraged about the death of his 21-year old son, Yani.
Yani, a 3rd year psychology student at Our Lady of Fatima University in Antipolo, was with his friends celebrating his good grades when a motorcycle-riding gunman approached them and shot them at close range at around 12:38 AM.
Yani suffered gunshot wounds to the head, killing him. Yani’s friend, Arbel Cinco (age 21), was taken to a hospital as he was also shot three times in the neck and body.
Supt. Ruben Andiso, acting police chief of Antipolo, reported that the crime occurred near a store in Sta. Rosa Road, Purok II in Peñafrancia in Cupang, Antipolo. The store was a kilometer away from Jebulan’s residence.
In his online message, Jebulan insisted that his son was never involved in any illegal drug activities due to his strict upbringing. He also emphasized that as a former law enforcer, it is his job to arrest drug users and pushers. Before retiring in 2003, Jebulan last served in the intelligence unit of the Rizal provincial police.
The 64-year old former intelligence officer also said that he will solve his son’s murder with or without Duterte and Dela Rosa’s help. He mentioned that he is also capable of taking someone else’s life.
