We are all aware of the amazing benefits of honey. Aside from its cough and throat infection-fighting capabilities, it can also reduce ulcers and other gastrointestinal problems. It is also known to regulate blood sugar and prevent heart diseases and cancer. However, recently, scientists discovered that raw honey can actually kill all kinds of bacteria even the worst ones.
In a study published by the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, a particular type of honey called manuka honey was found to have the power to fight bacteria and other infections. This is produced mainly in New Zealand and is also goes by the name of "jelly bush". The manufacturers in the country have kept the honey under trademark protection which kept the wonders of this honey from the public. But after completing their research, they are now ready to expose this miracle ingredient to the general market.
It was found to kill MRSA or “Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)" and other superbugs, which are deadly and are usually antibiotic-resistant. Dr. Carter noted how many bacteria can usually evolve and develop resistances to antibiotics. This gives them the burden to continuously develop and update the antibiotics. But manuka honey has a compound called methylglyoxal, and it is very powerful against these resistant bacteria.
Experts around the world advice everyone to check for the Unique Manuka Factor or a UMF certification to avoid getting a fake product. If you think you have symptoms of MRSA which usually include swollen, painful red bumps that resemble pimples or spider bites, apply manuka honey directly to the affected area and see the results for yourself!
