A call center agent was robbed and raped by unidentified suspects in Bacolod City after riding a tricycle on her way to work.
In a news report released by Bombo Radyo Bacolod, the victim's husband, Ruben, did not expect this to happen to his wife.
According to the report, Ruben sent his 26-year-old wife to work at 2 a.m. He let her ride a tricycle that would send her to Negros First Cyber Center where she works as a call center agent. Ruben was hesitant to let her wife ride the tricycle as he saw the driver with another companion. However, his wife insisted, saying she did not want to be late.
Along the road, the victim noticed that they were taking a different route. When she asked the driver about it, the man only said that the road they are taking is a shortcut. Moments later, the vehicle stopped and the victim started to feel uncomfortable.
The victim was shocked when the driver's companion went inside the tricycle and pointed a gun and a knife at her as he declared that he was going to rob her. The suspect took her cash - amounting to Php 1,400 - cellphones and other belongings.
After the robbery, she was taken to a dark, vacant lot in Brgy. Mansilingan where she was raped alternately by the two suspects. After the crime, they left her near Panaad Park and Stadium.
After further investigation, the Bacolod City Police arrested one of the suspects who was identified by the victim's husband. However, the 47-year-old unnamed suspect denied the accusation and claimed that he was in a different place when the incident happened.
The case is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, Ruben could not hide his anger claiming that even the death penalty is not enough to pay for the heinous crime these two men committed.
