Miss Universe 2016 was an event full of cherished and wonderful moments. Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned as Pia Wurtzbach's successor, ending France’s 63-year drought at the pageant - the longest in Miss Universe history.
However, it’s often the little things that leave a mark on us during the pageant, like that time Miss USA Olivia Jordan was trying to convince Pia she had actually won the title.
During a commercial break - Miss Netherlands Zoey Ivory unsuspectingly won the hearts of netizens.
Apparently, netizen RT Gundran was watching and even filmed the whole thing. He uploaded the video on Facebook which received 4 million views, 86,000 reactions, and 41,000+ shares.
As it turns out, the 23-year-old beauty queen is a professional dancer.
In the #GetToKnowMe video posted on the official Miss Netherlands 2016 Instagram account, Zoey reveals that she "didn't follow a regular education.”
"I had regular classes, then I'll have to go to another school to have dance lessons until like 10 p.m."
Here’s another Instagram video of her doing the moonwalk.
When asked by MissHollandNow.com, "What will make [you] stand out?"
The beauty queen answered, "My background as a professional dancer really formed me the way I am. I have the attitude of an athlete, so I’ll always give a 101% even if I’m sick or in pain.
"It also taught me to be a fast learner, I can copy movement and manners very fast."
After the video of her dancing trended, many Pinoy netizens were clamoring for her to stay in the Philippines – perhaps even guest star on ABS-CBN’s variety show ASAP.
On Twitter, she jokingly replied, "PLS ADOPT ME."
Unfortunately, her flight leaves on the evening of January 31st.
She may not have reached Top 13 but she’s won us over with her confidence and fun-loving personality.
Zoey wrote on her Instagram post that it was not her destiny to win Miss Universe but became an experience she can add to her life’s journey.
"Thanks everyone, keep loving yourself."
