Almost 4,000 drug users and pushers have surrendered themselves to the authorities on Saturday in an auditorium in Tagum City.
This is considered as the single biggest surrender so far under President Duterte’s administration.
During his campaign, he vowed that he will be eliminating crimes and drugs in this country and now that he’s already the President, he promised to wage a bloody war against illegal drugs.
Recently, he has just named the five police generals whom he claims to be the protectors of the drug syndicates in the Philippines.
The suspects then visited the auditorium and signed the gigantic “Commitment Wall” and then pledged to never be involved in any drugs again.
The suspects weren’t detained and will be monitored instead
