- President-elect Rodrigo Duterte says he will realign PAGCOR funds towards health and education
- The two departments, he noted, need to be reformed so as to solve problems of students, teachers, and sick people

In a speech delivered by President-elect Rodrigo Duterte during his election thanksgiving party in Davao City, he mentioned his plan to realign Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) funds towards health and education.
This, according to the President-elect will be among his priorities so that the health program for the marginalized sector will be improved.
“I will commit all earnings sa PAGCOR which runs to billions,” he said. “[Ibigay] sa mga ospital, para sa ospital at hospitalization,” Duterte was quoted in an article written by Marisse Panaligan on GMA News Online.

In addition, Duterte disclosed that he would allot part of the PAGCOR funds to education to help solve the growing problems of students and teachers.
Duterte also stressed that his administration will give more access to education to students who live far from their schools in rural areas as he vowed to bring schools closer to the people.
“Dito sa education I will endeavor to build national high schools,” he said. “No need to walk 30 km to go to school, ako mismo magdala ng eskuwelahan,” he noted.

Furthermore, the President-elect vowed to put an end to large -scale mining in Mindanao as he said that it affected the Moro people thus benefiting only the businesses from Metro Manila.
Expressing his contradiction with mining companies that created destruction on land, Duterte said the industry have to stop.
“You are spoiling the land, destroying Mindanao,” he added. “Lahat ng mining industry na malaki na sumira sa land natin, they have to stop,” he cited.

With regards to his stand on illegal drugs, Duterte said he would not hesitate to kill offenders as he expressed his desire to save the future of the younger generation by sparing them from drug addiction.
