• Duterte warned 3 high-ranking police officers to resign or be humiliated
• He did not name the 3 police generals who are allegedly involved in corruption
• He vowed to review all the dismissed cases against policemen
Soon-to-be President Rodrigo Duterte demanded the resignation of three high-ranking police officers for their alleged involvement in corruption.
Duterte warned the three police generals, whom he did not name, assigned at the Philippine National Police Headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City that he will humiliate them if they refused to step down.
“Corruption must stop. Tatlong general diyan sa Crame [three generals in Crame] should resign. Do not wait for me to name you in public because I will only humiliate you,” the incoming president said in his speech before hundreds of thousands of supporters who attended his victory party at the Crocodile Park in Davao City on Saturday, June 4.
The president-elect also vowed to review all the dismissed cases against police officers.
Duterte said most of the corrupt policemen with cases filed against them were able to go back to the police force to again wreak havoc on the Filipino people. They get away with it by delaying court cases until the witnesses or complainants against them can no longer be located, he said.
As mentioned in a Rappler article dated June 4, 2016, Duterte also gave fair warning to kill all policemen involved in the illegal drugs trade.
“Pag nandiyan ka pa sa droga, ipapapatay kita. Don’t take this as a joke. Hindi ako nagpapatawa. P*****ina, papatayin talaga kita,” the tough-talking leader said.
[If you are still into drugs, I will have you killed. Don’t take this as a joke. I am not trying to be funny. B**ch, I will really kill you]
He then reiterated his earlier warning to drug syndicates and other criminal groups.
“If you destroy my country, I will kill you. If you destroy the youth of this country, I will kill you,” he warned.
