MANILA, Philippines – Actress Vina Morales has reportedly filed a case against ex-partner Cedric Lee for ‘forcibly detaining’ their 7-year-old daughter Ceana for nine days. She told PEP.ph the incident happened while she was outside the country for a holiday.
In an interview with the entertainment magazine, Morales accused Lee of violating a court order where the latter is only allowed to visit Ceana on Saturdays.
“I filed a case against Cedric last Friday,” the singer-host told PEP. “I have a hearing tomorrow [June 8] at 8:30 A.M. in San Juan.”
“Cedric detained my daughter Ceana forcibly without my permission for 9 days while I was away, and violated the court-approved visitation rights every Saturday,” she said.
In an Instagram post on May 24, Morales’ younger sister, Shaina Magdayao, shared a photo with Ceana with a caption that says she was glad to have her niece back after a “stressful week”.
Traumatized
Morales said she was forced to break her silence after many people have started asking what really happened following her sister’s Instagram post.
“I have been quiet about it but since people are asking me now, I have to tell the truth,” said Morales. “Ceana was handed to my family (Shaina was there) at the court last May 23.”
“She is only 7 years old and was confused with what happened and a bit traumatized,” she added.
Bullied
Also, the 40-year-old actress decided to speak against the bullying she’s suffering at the hands of her daughter’s father.
“So, kung noon hindi ako lumalaban at tahimik ako ay dahil iniisip ko ang anak ko (meaning tatay pa rin siya ng anak ko at ayaw kong mag-comment),” the Kapamilya talent said.
[So, if I refused to fight back then and kept my silence because I’m thinking about my daughter (meaning he’s still the father of my child and I don’t want to comment.]
Fighting back
Morales was referring to the January 2014 controversy involving Lee, model Deniece Cornejo and other personalities who were accused of mauling comedian-host Vhong Navarro. She refused to be dragged into the scandal and chose to keep mum.
However, Morales vowed to fight back this time for the sake of her daughter.
“Ngayon, handa na akong lumaban para sa anak ko. May hangganan din ang pambu-bully niya sa akin at sa pamilya ko,” she stressed.
[Now, I’m ready to fight for my daughter. I’m fed up with his bullying me and my family.]
Lee, Cornejo and another suspect, Simeon “Zimmer” Raz, are currently on bail in connection with the serious illegal detention case filed by Navarro before the Taguig court.
