- KBL candidate Atty. Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon wants Moro rebels totally wiped out from Mindanao
- He says he will negotiate with them 10 times, to exterminate them if they do not listen
- Extermination to include their family members and supporters
- He justifies radical move, says it’s to save Mindanao from further meddling by Malaysia
MANILA, Philippines – In an interview which clearly unsettled even veteran GMA News host Kara David, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) senatorial bet Atty. Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon suggested exterminating members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, their families and supporters should they refuse to heed his call for peace in Mindanao.
Gadon — who is also a member of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s legal counsel — made the suggestion after being asked how he can bring peace to Mindanao.
Blaming the rebel group and Malaysia which he said is using the former to distract the Philippines from asserting its claim on Sabah as the main troublemakers in Mindanao, Gadon said he will personally plead with the rebels 10 times to return to the folds of society.
“I will talk to them, I will kneel before them and ask them to stop their activities and surrender peacefully. I will do that 10 times,” he said in Filipino. “I will even cry rocks and blood for them.”
Should they refuse his offer of peace for the tenth time, Gadon said he will bring the country’s armed forces to wipe out them all out.
“I will bring the entire armed forces of the Philippines and I will kill them all,” he said. “I will burn their houses. I will kill even the cockroaches and rats there.”
Gadon then emphasized he will kill everyone — including the rebels’ families and children.
“Everyone, they should be exterminated. Even if my soul will burn in hell, I will really do it,” he said; adding that the issue is not about Islam but about Malaysia’s continued meddling in internal affairs using the rebels as their puppets.
“The issue here is their continued protection of Malaysia’s interests here,” he said. “This is not about religion.”
Gadon also downplayed accusations he would be committing human rights abuses if he calls on the armed forces to exterminate the rebels; saying they themselves have been guilty of violations by killing soldiers.
To emphasize his point, Gadon told David extermination must include the women and children if need be.
“Their kind needs to be wiped out,” he said.
Meanwhile, many online users who’ve watched the interview expressed their anger over the statements of the senatorial bet.
