- Flight route to benefit 200,000 Filipinos working and living in Qatar
- PAL to use its newest passenger plane for service
MANILA, Philippines – Good news for Filipinos working and living in Qatar.
Over the weekend, Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced a new direct flight service between Doha and Manila beginning March 28.
The flag carrier’s newest acquisition— the Airbus 330— will be used for the service which will be offered every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Both economy and premium economy service are available to travellers. Cabin perks include a free half-hour of wi-fi along with 15 mb of video streaming through Pal’s myPAL player.
One-way and round-trip tickets for the Manila-Doha flight are priced at $ 665 and $ 760 respectively. For Doha-Manila flights, tickets are priced at QAR 980 (for one way) and QAR 1,400 (for round-trip).
According to PAL president Jaime Bautista, the direct flight service is expected to benefit 200,000 Filipino expatriates and overseas workers based in Qatar. He said the launch comes as PAL continues to expand its routes to the Middle East.
“Following our successful launch to Jeddah and Kuwait last January, PAL continues to grow its routes in the Middle East by opening a new route to Doha in Qatar. Our overseas Filipino workers in Qatar can now enjoy that distinct Filipino service that will bring them much closer to home,” Sun Star quoted him as saying.
PAL added the service will also serve as a boon for Qataris who want to fly to the Philippines.
“Likewise, Qataris can now enjoy an easy route to discover the wonders of the Philippines and Philippine Airlines through convenient connections to any of PAL’s 30 domestic and 43 international destinations,” the company said.
