- “Carrot man” in the person of Jeyrick Sigmaton was top trending topic on the social site after he guested on “Wowowin”
- The show’s host Revillame pledged support for Sigmaton’s education
21-year-old Igorot farm worker Jeyrick Sigmaton a.k.a “Carrot Man” from the Mountain Province became a top trending topic on Twitter on Thursday with the hash tag #CarrotManInWowowin.
After taking the internet by storm last week when his photo was uploaded by a tourist on social media, the Carrot Man once again set the online world abuzz with his emotional guesting on Wowowin.
A few days after their brief meeting on Monday, Sigmaton and his idol “Wowowin” host Willie Revillame met again on the latter’s variety show which was aired Thursday afternoon.
They initially met following Sigmaton’s guesting at the Jessica Soho’s show and GMA morning news program Unang Hirit wherein the GMA network team surprised him afterwards with a brief meet up with Revillame whom the ‘Carrot Man’ said was his idol.
Revillame promised to guest Sigmaton at his show which immediately took place after only a few days. He was accompanied by his father and new friends Chee-nee De Guzman and Edwina Bandong — who took his photos that went viral on social media.
During the show, Sigmaton was interviewed by Revillame. His narration of the kind of life they have and his simple dreams for himself and his family somehow brought tears to his eyes which, apparently, also rubbed off on the audience and the televiewers.
Sigmaton shared that he had to stop schooling on his first year in high school in order to help his family earn for their living. He also expressed his desire to continue his schooling so he could better help his family, especially as he is the eldest among seven siblings.
Willie Revillame surprised him and his father with a lot of giveaways, and what’s more, the Wowowin host granted him his wish via a promise that he will support Sigmaton in his quest for education.
The Carrot Man also entertained the audience with his own simple rendition of the song “Ikaw na nga” which is one of Revillame’s popular hits.
Those who were touched by Sigmaton’s humility aired their admiration – again – via social media; hence, the avalanche of tweets #CarrotManInWowowin after that emotional guesting.
Moreover, another hashtag is brewing – #CarrotManWishGranted – as initiated by CARROTMANiacs and JEYRICKNATICS
Let’s take a look at Sigmaton’s Thursday guesting:
