MANILA, Philippines – A situation is now developing at Ateneo de Manila University – Loyola Heights campus on Monday morning, March 28; allegedly due to a bomb threat.
There is no official statement yet from the school administration but students and netizens have been sharing updates and photos on the school’s Facebook page.
“Classes are officially suspended, March 28, 2016, due to bomb threat. Please pray for the safety of everyone,” wrote one Kenn Cabezas.
Nino B. Cinco said the evacuation procedure has started “Due to a Bomb Threat” and no vehicles were allowed while all students, faculty and staff were ordered to leave the campus on foot.
A tweet by the university’s official paper The Guidon said: We are currently on campus lockdown due to a bomb threat.
Based on social media posts, the evacuation has started around 9 am on Monday, the first working day after the Holy Week.
Operatives from the Quezon City Police District Explosive Ordnance Division have been deployed in the premises and are now investigating the incident.
