A woman went viral after warning everyone of this new modus operandi.
Richelle Yambao Cudiamat turned to her Facebook account to share her horrible experience. According to her, a woman named Samonte Nhics Andrea, or Nichole, messaged her on Facebook offering her a part-time job. Being a single mom, Richelle was intrigued about the offer. Nichole then told her to call their boss for the full details of the job.
She was then told that the job was to assist a family in a huge casino for 3 hours. She would then get paid amount of P7,500. Overwhelmed of the offer, Richelle agreed for the job. She was instructed to meet her handler at SM Dasmariñas.
Once at the meeting place, she was asked to surrender her belongings including her phone and wallet. She was also asked to remove the passcode on her phone, for security purposes. She was then told to ride a tricycle to Magenta as Nichole would be waiting for her there.
But when she reached the place, she was surprised to see a motel instead of a casino. And Nichole was nowhere to be found! She rushed back to SM, getting a hint of what just happened. Guards from the mall assisted her, but her handler was not in the place anymore. She messaged Nichole but she wasn't being helpful and eventually blocked her.
Richelle shared photos of the messages, warning everyone not to get swayed by too-good-to-be-true offers like her. She warned them not to trust anyone fully especially if they were met online. Despite what happened, Richelle is thankful that she wasn't harmed by the incident.
