No one had expected that the burial of former President and Dictator Ferdinand would transpire so deviously under such dubious circumstances. The surprise burial took every Filipino citizen by surprise and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa claims that he was no exception.
“Naisahan kayo ‘no? Ako nga naisahan din ako eh. Kahapon ko lang nalaman. Pareho tayo,” said Dela Rosa in jest.
The PNP Chief claimed that he only learned of the plans to bury the late President and Dictator at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Thursday morning.
Dela Rosa said the sole purpose of the PNP at the event was to maintain peace and order around whileit took place, hence, he decided not to coordinate with any officials of the Palace, even President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I presume alam niya (Duterte) dahil nag-uusap [naman sila] sa pamilya [ng Marcos].”
He also shared that the schedule of the burial was informed to him by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde.
He also cryptically shrugged of questions about whether the surprise burial was deliberately hidden from public information, despite the obviously dubious nature surrounding the event.
He claims that the military was the one who coordinated with the family, adding that he was focused instead on the arrival of top drug lord Kerwin Espinosa on Friday morning.
“Wala naman sigurong magka-interes na patayin yan dahil patay naman diba? Doon ako nag-concentrate kay Kerwin kasi baka mamaya, mamatay na naman, mamroblema tayo,” he said.
“Basta ang samin, let us be very clear on this, yung papel namin diyan is to maintain peace and order sa palibot ng Libingan ng mga Bayani kung may ralyista.” He added.
“As far as the specifics ng libing, bakit ililibing, kailan ililibing, saan ililibing eh ang may hawak niyan is the military, [at] yung mayari ng Libingan ng mga Bayani so sila at tsaka yung pamilya ang nag-uusap diyan,” Dela Rosa claimed.
Dela Rosa further said that the PNP has been prepared for the burial since the ruling of the Supreme Court came out dismissing petitions blocking Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
