Aside from being known of high rates of marijuana usage, Colorado, USA is making history again by allowing people to smoke marijuana inside McDonald's restaurants.
15 McDonald's chains will implement the first ever marijuana smoking sections with converting their Play Place into areas where users can freely smoke. These areas will be called "smoking pods" which will allow joints, bongs and pipes to be smoke. However, only marijuana is allowed and any tobacco or cigarette products are prohibited.
The smoking areas will have proper ventilation preventing marijuana smoke from entering the restaurant proper and be filtered away from the facility. It was reported that two McDonald's restaurants have already implemented the new section of the restaurant while 13 other franchises expect to be completed by December of this year. However, it was clarified by McDonald's management will not sell any marijuana products or THC edibles as of now.
Meanwhile, experts expect McDonald's profit to increase as of the addition of this new feature especially that marijuana demand is also increasing in the state. Moreover, experts confirmed that putting these "smoking pods" is likely the main reason why McDonald's are starting to remove their Play Places.
