For all Bible Readers, you are well aware of the story of Moses and the Egyptians. The pharaoh, having refused to let of the Israelites, demanded for signs to prove that God is real. One of the first miracles that Moses performed was when he turned the river of Nile into blood. This is one of the 10 plagues that struck Egypt during that time. You can find the story in Exodus 7:17–18, where it’s written: “With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink and the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.”
This is the reason why Russian nationals and even tourists have been in great distress when Russia's Daldykan River turned into a violent red color. Many have connected this to Bible, and claims that this is the work of God. Some even caused panic when they pitched in the idea of doomsday and the river is one of the signs.
Contrary to this, David Chambers, a mining expert and president of the Center for Science in Public Participation says “That’s a very typical color for a mine waste,” and claims that it is Oxidized iron contained in these waste is the one responsible for turning the color of the river. Norilsik is a known industrial city which is one of the most populated places on earth, It has a lot of factories which are mostly of Norilsk Nickel.
