- SM Mall of Asia’s globe lit up in colors resembling a Poke Ball on Friday
- It signaled the start of the ‘largest Pokemon Go lure party’ in the country
- SM malls nationwide were flocked by many Pinoys who wanted to join the lure party
So, did you catch ’em all?
The SM Mall of Asia’s official globe transformed and lit up into a spinning Pokeball for the Nationwide Lure Party on Friday – marking the start of what was dubbed as the “largest lure party” in the country.
The iconic globe ‘became’ a Poke Ball which is used to catch Pokemon in the phenomenal mobile game “Pokemon Go”.
The much-awaited mobile game that garnered over 100 million downloads worldwide became officially available in the Philippines when American software company Niantic, Inc. launched Pokemon Go in 15 more countries on Saturday.
Hence, as the Pokemon fever continues, thousands flocked to SM malls around the Philippines on August 12 where PokeStops were put in place to lure more Pokemons, and, of course, Pokemasters. Posts say the party kept on til Sunday.
Pokestops allow players to collect items such as eggs and Poke Balls and even pop lure modules.
As described by ABS CBN, a ‘lure party’ is when players keep PokeStops filled with lure modules, which thereby attracts a large number of Pokemon within minutes. As such, “catching ’em all” become pretty easier for players. Cool, right?
In the comments box, someone posted: “Go Pokeball Go! MOA should be registered with Guinness so they are recognized as having the biggest pokeball in the world! I’d love to see this award given to SM Mall of Asia. Wow!”
Well…why not, right? MOA’s Pokeball is perhaps the biggest so far.
Let’s take a look:
