The Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services posted on a social networking site its message to Pokemon Go players.
In an article written by Aya Tantiangco and JST of GMA News, it was disclosed that the popularity of the augmented-reality game in Australia has prompted the NTPFES to post on their Facebook page a message addressed to Pokemon trainers.
“For those budding Pokemon Trainers out there using Pokemon Go – whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don’t actually have to step inside in order to gain the Pokeballs,” the NTPFES noted.
The station added that it is also a good idea to be cautious in crossing the street while during a Pokemon hunt.
“It’s also a good idea to look up, away from your phone and both ways before crossing the street. That Sandshrew isn’t going anywhere fast. Stay safe and catch ’em all!” it reminded. To note, the peninsula where the station is located seems like a wonderful hangout place for Sandshrews.
Pokemon GO is built on Niantic’s Real World Gaming Platform and will use real locations to encourage players to search for Pokemons in the real world.

The Pokemon video game series has used real-world locations such as the Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, New York, and Paris as inspiration for the fantasy settings in which its games take place.
