Wedding preparations are a lot of work. From invitations to cake, to gowns and guests, not to mention it would cost you a fortune.
But as weddings are expensive and so is the annulment. This is why many separated couples have decided to just call it quits among them or to settle in internally just to avoid the expenses it would incur.
Church annulment, despite costing less than civil annulment, would take a very long time and involves approval of courts before finally cutting the ties. The church claims that they take marriages seriously that annulment has to go incrustation. Some are even brought to Rome to ask for a verdict.
But recently, Pope Francis ordered for the process to be more simplified, shortened, and should be free of charge.
Although, in the Philippines, because of the separation of the Church and the state, church annulments do not give legal privileges and do not apply legal consequences. It simply nullifies the marriage.
