Do your legs hurt or throb while you are lying down? Are you experiencing leg cramps every night? Do you have the urge to move them just to relieve pain?
You maybe suffering from Restless legs syndrome (RLS).
People with RLS often feels “unpleasant sensations” in the legs when lying down, especially at night. The sensations can be annoying to downright painful. Because of the pain, they have difficulty sleeping, which leads to low-energy during day time and difficulty paying attention at work.
There is no cure to RLS, but you can try other treatments, like massage, applying cold or hot compress on your legs, or taking vitamin supplements.
Dr. Mehmet Oz of the “The Dr. Oz Show” recommends this weird, but effective way of treating RLS: putting soap beneath your bed sheets or near your feet while you sleep.
The soap’s smell, according to Dr. Oz, relaxes the body, and puts you to sleep faster than counting sheep.
You can use different types, but Dr. Oz prefers lavander–scented soaps. Choose the most relaxing scent for you.
Although there are no peer-reviewed research for the use of soap as home treatment for RLS, many people have tried it and attested that it works!
