- The sick passenger, who suffered from a heart attack, later died
Former NFL star Tim Tebow was spotted lending a helping hand in a medical emergency during a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to Phoenix.
According to a fellow passenger, Richard Gotti, who wrote about the incident on his Facebook page on Sunday, June 26, a few rows in front of him, a man appeared to be suffering from heart problems and collapsed mid-flight.
Gotti narrated that both the airline staff and passengers all teamed together to help the gentleman, giving him chest compressions, using the portable emergency defibrillator and praying over him.
“The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner! Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle,” Gotti wrote.
“That guy was Tim Tebow. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation,” he added.
Tebow also helped the family get off the plane, picked up their luggage, and went with them to the hospital. He waited with them until they got the news that the man had passed away. The man, in his 60s, was traveling with his wife and her friend, as per an article published by People.
Gotti’s Facebook post went viral and has been shared over 17K times.
“God has given you a platform to stand on to share your faith by example, and you truly live what you speak!” Gotti wrote to Tebow. “God will bless you. I can not begin to imagine the lives you have influenced with your Godly character and your morals.”
