- President-elect Rodrigo Duterte ended his late night press conference with a karaoke
- Duterte to impose curfew on minors and to take down late-night and noisy karaoke
- His nocturnal working habit has caught the attention of doctors
Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte ended the day with a karaoke after his late night press conference concludes at 2 a.m.
He sang at a bar and hanged out with his colleagues from the San Beda law school. The tough-talking former mayor of Davao City belted out songs such as “Ikaw” and “MacArthur Park” despite his earlier pronouncements of stamping out loud and late-night karaoke. In a May 16 press conference, Duterte said he will impose a curfew on minors and will take down late-night and noisy karaoke, wrote Pia Ranada of Rappler.
Meanwhile, the incoming president’s nocturnal working habits and a nearly 24-hour meeting has caught the attention of doctors.
In Jesse Pizarro Boga’s article published in Mindanao Times, Department of Health secretary Janette Garin explained that every person’s working hours may vary and depend on his adrenaline. She further said that it doesn’t matter if some are effective working on daytime while others prefer to work at dawn as long as they get adequate sleep hours.
Garin said that Mindanao doctors share the same opinion. They have advised that president-elect Duterte should have enough rest aside from eating balanced and nutritious meals.
Duterte, in an interview with GMA, said that he is trying to alter his usual sleeping and waking hours. When asked what his usual schedule of work is, he said he wants to be at his office at least 9 to 10 in the morning. Duterte added he is at his best from 6 to 10 in the evening.
